Clubs are great for people wanting to learn or develop in a sport by providing tuition and coaching in a safe and supportive environment, which is particularly important for young people. An indicator that a club has correct policies and procedure in place meets minimum standards and follows best practice is Clubmark accreditation. A accredited club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages as well as helping parents and carers know that they're choosing the right club for their young people.

Why join a club?

Did you know that at least one in five people take part in sport through a club? Playing sport as part of a club has many benefits:

  • Take part in sport with likeminded people
  • Get coaching and advice
  • Meet new people and create friends for life
  • Opportunities for competitive and social sport
  • Stay involved in sport through volunteering, coaching or officiating.
